The Real Truth About Weight Loss - What the Weight Loss Industry Hopes You Never Learn

True, sustained weight loss may not be an easy accomplishment, but the principles behind it are simple. Deceivingly simple. Forget the complicated formulas, the protein shakes, the endless calorie counts. Discover the TRUE SECRET of losing weight -- and keeping it off for ever.

This just may be the most important article you've read in a long time. You may want to pay attention to it as if your life depended on it. Because it does. It's true! Continued obesity worldwide is slashing life expectancies. But more than that, it's making what little time we have on this earth fraught with a myriad of diseases: arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, cancer. Need I go on?

The tendency, I know, is to throw up our hands and give up. With all the conflicting reports, clinical trials and just plain information, it's hard to really judge exactly what we're supposed to be doing to not only lose weight, but to extend our lives, reduce our chances of degenerative disease and be at the proper weight.

More of us than ever before are struggling with excess weight. More of us than ever before are sincerely concerned that we'll be the next statistic, succumbing to one of those degenerative, age-related diseases.

That is until now. Finally, a study reveals what we suspected all along - and provides a clear path to life-long health, at a normal, realistic weight. It's a secret that the diet industry doesn't want you to know. It's a secret that the food manufacturers pray you never discover.

But the secret is finally out.

The truth of the matter is that it isn't that much of secret to begin with. Whole foods. Plant-based whole foods. With some whole grains thrown in for good measure. The secret isn't what we should be eating. We knew all along that junk food... processed foods.. packaged foods... probably weren't the best thing for our health. But perhaps we were swayed by the advertising... or seduced by the sheer magnitude of the items at the grocery stores. Whatever the reason, we really have tried to tell ourselves that these foods weren't that unhealthy for us.

Now it appears that not only are they at the root cause of our obesity, but they could be downright deadly.

If you're currently trying to lose weight and find yourself stuck at a certain level -- not burning any more fat than what you have been, not building any more muscle -- review your diet. Be brutally honest. How much of your diet is plant-based? What did you have for breakfast this morning? Fruit? Whole Grains?

Or did you have bacon, ham or sausage? Did you opt for a toaster pastry because you were in a hurry? Or did you decide a "cereal bar" is just as healthy as anything else out there? Don't even tell me your breakfast consisted of a doughnut.

But you don't have to believe me. There's a fascinating book, while not especially new, is now generating an excitement in health food circles. It's called The China Study. It's written by Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell II.

I must share the stunning results of just one clinical trial involving plant-based, low-fat, whole-foods diets (I hate that word -- let's use eating habits). Researchers instructed overweight individuals to eat as much as they cared of foods that were low-fat, whole-food and plant-based.

After three weeks, the average weight loss in the group was 17 pounds. Yes, 17 pounds.

The Pritikin Center performed a similar study with equally amazing results. Here, 4,500 individuals underwent a three-week program. The staff not only provided them with a whole-foods, plant-based meal plan, but the center also promoted the idea of physical activity.

The results? The persons on average lost 5.5 percent of their body weight. In a mere three weeks.

But that's not all. As documented in this book, published results apparently abound on the benefits of this type of eating plan. Once an individual begins it, check out these exciting results.

1. The loss of approximately two to five pounds in the first 12 days.
2. the loss of an average of 10 pounds in the first three weeks.
3. After twelve weeks, 16 dropped pounds!
4. After one year, 24 pounds lost.

And that's without starving yourself. Plant-based, whole foods are richer in fiber, which fills you up quicker and keeps the hunger at bay longer. And the great news is that those who were the heaviest -- and needed to lose the most weight -- were those, in the initial stages, who lost the weight the quickest.

But in order to achieve these, you have to steer clear of the refined carbohydrates -- the sweets, the pastries and the refined pasta. No...those are off limits. Now, do you see why the food manufacturers pray you don't discover this exciting.. potentially revolutionary.... information!
